Pickleberry Flowers

This month’s guest blog is all about Pickleberry Flowers, run by the lovely Isobel Cole.
Isobel and I met back in 2014 when she was maid of honour and I was bridesmaid at my brother’s wedding. She has known my sister-in-law for over 25 years and I for only a few years! We lost touch after the wedding but bumped into each other at the Rutland Show in 2018, and have since spent a lot of time together at her beautiful home in Leicestershire.

Here we are as bridesmaids!
While Isobel is mother to twin boys, the name Pickleberry was inspired by her dachsunds, who she calls “the girls”! Pickles and Nelly are absolutely gorgeous, and so affectionate (and I am 100% not biased…. but I do really want one!)

While Pickleberry’s website launched in late 2018, Isobel has over 15 years of floristry experience, going right back to her teens when she spent time at her sister’s flower shop in Norfolk. Isobel began helping out, first in the shop, then at events – buttonholes being her speciality at this point!
When she relocated to Leicester, Isobel started studying floristry at Brooksby College in Melton Mowbray and was recommended to also qualify as a teacher, meaning she is fully able to instruct other budding florists.

Isobel describes her style as country, rustic and personal. She is able to offer a huge amount of advice to her clients and tailor her floristry to the look they want. She is incredibly warm and friendly, and makes anyone feel at ease when she talks to them! She grows seasonal flowers in her own garden, so she knows exactly the journey from seed to arrangement!

Her amazing personal skills mean she makes the perfect choice as a florist to host your wreath making workshop, or indeed any floral workshop! She is particularly skilled at floral crowns and encourages as many brides-to-be as possible to have a hen do making these! She also offers workshops for bridesmaids to make their own bouquets - how personal!

From April, Isobel is offering something completely unique – a glitter bar for your event! This would be strictly for local events but I can’t imagine anything better than dancing the night away with glitter on me! This can be booked on its own or alongside Isobel’s beautiful bouquets.

Comfortable with small and larger arrangements, Isobel’s laid back but efficient style would make the perfect addition to your wedding – she will make the whole process so simple for you!

Flowers are the sign of love and these flowers are used in almost every event happening all over the world and these events will be of joy and sorrow or both. The pickle barriers flower is about the pictures with the flowers on different occasions.

    Welcome!

Welcome to the blog of Harriet Flather Musician!

I’ve wanted to do this for a while and now feel I have found sufficient inspiration to deliver content that you will find interesting and engaging! I’m hoping to cover a lot of different things here: a description of my week and give you an insight into the life of a freelance musician; some resources for music teaching; information on weddings such as music and why you should have a harpist; and finally I’m going to be bringing in some guests to chat to you about what they do as well!

I hope you enjoy, writing is a fairly new venture for me but it’s good to be back in the proverbial saddle.
