So many movies and TV shows feature weddings, whether the couple are meant to be or not. These have formed the inspiration throughout the decades for real life weddings, and I certainly know some of these will inspire me when my turn comes! So here it is, my top 5 on-screen weddings...

WARNING - SPOLILERS!!

5. Sex and the City The Movie - Carrie & Big's Second Attempt

After the disaster of a first wedding attempt at New York Public Library wearing "a bird on my head", Carrie and Big try again successfully! Carrie wears her incredible Manolos along with a simple white suit - something blue nailed! After an intimate ceremony they are joined by all their friends for one big party!

4. Mamma Mia - Sophie & Sky/Donna & Sam

After a whole movie of tumult and potential fathers, Sophie & Sky finally get to their hilltop Greek wedding. However, at the final moment, Sophie realises she doesn't want to get married...! Instead, her mother Donna and long lost love, Sam tie the knot!

3. Love Actually - Peter & Juliet

Ok, so it's a bit strange that Peter's best man turns out to be madly in love with Juliet but we'll gloss over that. What does happen is potentially the best wedding surprise ever: a Beatles flash mob. Now, this is giving me serious inspo for my wedding.....

2. Pride and Prejudice - Jane & Mr Bingley AND Lizzy & Mr Darcy

So you know Jane and Bingley are going to get married pretty much from episode one, but Lizzy & Darcy?! Hardened fans will spot the signs straight away but when I showed this epic BBC series to Oli for the first time, he genuinely didn't know if they would end up together! So it's all the sweeter when they do, and they have a beautiful double wedding.

1. The Sound of Music - Captain von Trapp & Maria

There are no words - Maria's dress, the fact that her new stepdaughters are her bridesmaids, the church and then the music! Wow do I want to walk down the aisle to this!

So there we are, my top 5 on screen weddings. What do you think?
