One of my favourite things about working in the wedding industry is meeting other suppliers, and when I met Rebecca back in January I knew I wanted to know more about her businesses - Parsons Occasions and Stamford Tableware Hire. Was it her incredible showroom that also doubles as her home and workspace, or was it how open she was about working in a freelance world? Read on to find out more...
It was a boiling hot day in August 2019 when a message popped up on my Instagram from Marianne Goodale, thanking me for the follow. I saw she was a classical soprano singer based in Rutland and immediately suggested coffee. It was so exciting for me to meet another professional musician based in our small county and so we both jumped at the chance to work together (watch this space…) and meet up.
One of the best things for me is when my friends are also suppliers – such is the case with Vicki of Paisley Flower Company. I have known Vicki for years through her brother, a school friend, but we’ve never actually worked on the same wedding! A few weeks ago we sat down for a couple of iced coffees and chatted about how it all began for her and flowers.
I recently met up with the lovely Amanda Forman in her favourite Rutland café, Fika. After catching up, we got down to chatting about her job, a wedding and pet photographer. Amanda is one of those people who adores her job, and it shows; she lights up when she talks about it!
This month’s guest blog is all about Pickleberry Flowers, run by the lovely Isobel Cole.
Isobel and I met back in 2014 when she was maid of honour and I was bridesmaid at my brother’s wedding. She has known my sister-in-law for over 25 years and I for only a few years! We lost touch after the wedding but bumped into each other at the Rutland Show in 2018, and have since spent a lot of time together at her beautiful home in Leicestershire.
