Film Music Ideas for Your Wedding

Film music is one of my most requested genres, and it’s very easy to see why. There’s so much choice, and so many pieces that already hold meaning for you as a couple, even before your wedding day.

What I particularly love about film music is how well it suits those longer, more relaxed parts of your day. The signing of the register and your drinks reception are perfect moments for it. Unlike your aisle music, which often needs to be carefully timed, these parts of the day allow the music to breathe. You’re much more likely to hear a piece in full, which makes a real difference to the atmosphere.

There’s something incredibly special about recognising a piece from a film you love, without it feeling overdone or predictable. It creates a connection, not just for you, but for your guests too. It’s familiar, emotive, and often a lovely talking point as everyone settles into the celebration.

If you’re drawn to music that feels cinematic, personal and a little bit different, film soundtracks are always a beautiful place to start.
